OUR TWIN CLUB
The
Fairfield Rotary Club has a Twin Club
relationship with the Cankaya Rotary Club of Ankara, Turkey.
 We have
been contributing to a special project near Ankara to bring clean
water to the villagers in the area. This
letter from Oguz Guler, Chairman of the International Relations
Committee of the Cankaya Club, gives us more on the project:
Dear Doug,
I would like to inform
you about the status of the project and kindly invite you and all dear members
of the Fairfield Rotary Club to the opening ceremony which is planned to be
held in August 2005.
 The
first phase of the project, the design and construction of water collection
and supply pipelines, has already been completed and pipeline has been
connected to the existing depot. An informal opening ceremony for this part of
the project was realized on 15 May 2005 with the attendance of Numan, me and
some of our club members, wives and villagers (see picture to the right).
Now the the second phase
of the project, design and construction a new depot of sufficient capacity,
has started. Last Sunday, our next term president, Ahmet, Turgut and I visited
the site with our wives and saw that the construction was going on rapidly
(see picture below).
 Meantime, we
would like to thank you and all members of your club again for contributing to
this nice project which will provide healthy and sufficient capacity clean
water for the community.
We are planning to
complete the second phase of the project and make an official opening ceremony
with the attendance of the district 2430 governor in August.
Our Club’s next term
president, Ahmet, the villagers and I kindly invite you and all dear members
of your club to the ceremony in August. We’ll be happy to see you here.
Please inform us about
the date convenient for you so that we will to arrange the ceremony
accordingly.
